Theme: SPECULATIVE FICTION
Word count: 1400 words max
Deadline: Sat, August 9
Awards: Sat Sept. 13th

This short short story contest is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and FREE to enter.
Theme - stories must have a Speculative Fiction element.
Eligibility – all stories must be original and unpublished (in any media) and not under consideration by an editor, nor concurrently entered into another contest. An eligible short story may not be withdrawn after the submission deadline.
Winner is to read story aloud at the bookstore.
Each author may submit 1 short story.
Formatting – please put contact information (name, address, email, phone) on the first page as a cover page, and your title/page# only on all subsequent pages.
Required formatting is standard print format: 1″ margins, double space, 12 point Courier, Courier New, or New Times Roman font, indent paragraphs, etc.
FILE TYPE: TXT, RTF, or Word DOC (must be readable in Word 2000) (as an attachment, please do not put the story in the body of the email as transferring it to Word by copy/paste often loses formatting)
Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mentions will be awarded Saturday Sept 13th at 6pm at the Hurst Barnes & Noble by Georgette Radford.
Each author retains copyright. Each winner will be asked to read their winning entry on awards night, Saturday Sept. 13, 6pm at the Hurst Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
