Bill publishes short story

The National Space Society of North Texas is hosting an Art Contest & a Poetry Contest for 2012. Both are free to enter and have cash prizes and an opportunity to be published in their upcoming anthology.

Gerald Warfield’s poem, ”A Greater Moon,” has received a nomination for the Rhysling Award, an annual award given for speculative (sci-fi or fantasy) poetry.

Nominees for each year’s Rhysling Awards are selected by the membership of the Science Fiction Poetry Association. The winning works are regularly reprinted in the Nebula Awards Anthology from the membership of the Science Fiction Poetry Association.

Awards Anthology from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc., and are considered in the SF/F/H/Spec. field to be the equivalent in poetry of the awards given for “prose” work— achievement awards given to poets by the writing peers of their own field of literature.

NASA’s Orion Spacecraft at AAC

NASA’s Orion Spacecraft is landing at the American Airlines Center (AAC) in Dallas Jan. 27-29 at Victory Park. The capsule making a stop in Dallas was a low fidelity model that was used for fit checks prior to the launch abort test that took place in 2010.

Due to the low security restrictions on the vehicle, the public will be allowed to sign their name or write messages on some of the panels on the capsule.

NASA astronauts Nick Patrick and Clay Anderson will be available at the exhibit on the 27th and 28th respectively.

Our local chapter of the National Space Society (NSSofNT.org) will be there as well.
