Gerald accepted to Odyssey
Member Gerald has been accepted to the prestigious Science Fiction and Fantasy Odyssey Workshop! There he’ll spend 6 long weeks studying the art of writing in the spec fic genres with the likes of Laura Anne Gilman, former editor at Berkley, Alexander Jablokov, Michael Arnzen, Gregory Frost, and David G. Hartwell.
Erin’s published book of poetry
Member Erin has published a book of poetry with Diminuendo Press called Napkin Poems.
March Story Challenge

Feb meeting & ConDFW
Our Feb meeting will be held in the bar of the Crowne Plaza Suites where ConDFW is holding their yearly convention. We will meet at our usual time, 6pm and will have a sign on the table. Our March meeting will return to the Hurst Barnes & Noble Bookstore. For more info on the convention, see www.condfw.org

Tom published!
NTSFW member Tom sold the hard SF tale, INTERPLANETARY TRIATHLON, to a major sports magazine , INSIDE TRIATHLON, and it should appear in the July/August “Racing” issue. This is the first time ever that a major endurance publication has tried publishing a fictional short story, and they are doing the whole 5700 words in one issue–three times longer than most of their articles. If this meets with audience approval, they are considering a series idea I had about different genre stories based in endurance racing: horror, mystery, romance, alternative history, etc. Maybe print one every other issue.

Feb meeting change
Since our 2nd weekend meeting is on the same weekend as ConDFW, we decided to meet up at the convention hotel for ConDFW, the Crowne Plaza in Dallas. So next 2nd weekend we will meet in the bar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. You do not need to pay for membership to the convention to attend the meeting. See ConDFW.org for moreconvention info.
